Sensex down 400 pts; Hitachi Energy, Max Financial lead MidCap losses
The benchmark indices, Nifty50 and the Sensex, fell as hopes for a deal between the US and Iran dimmed.
As of 10:00 AM, the Nifty50 was down 107.15 points or 0.44 per cent at 24,475.55 and the Sensex fell 383.79 points or 0.49 per cent to 78,158.65.
InterGlobe Aviation, Bajaj Finance, and Shriram Finance were the top losers in the Nifty50 index.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap was down 0.02 per cent, while the Nifty SmallCap was up 0.32 per cent.
Sector-wise, the Nifty Private Bank, the Nifty Bank, and the Nifty Financial Services underperformed, while the Nifty IT and the Nifty Metal outperformed.

Similarly, Sham Foam and Fascinate Textiles IPOs opened for subscription on Tuesday.
Dhoot Transmission and Molbio Diagnostics initial IPOs opened for subscription for the second day. The companies are aiming to raise ₹3,066.89 crore and ₹939.70 crore, respectively.
LEAP India and Technocraft Ventures IPOs opened for subscription for the final day. The issues are worth ₹251.88 crore and ₹2,480 crore.
Optimystix Entertainment IPO entered the final day of subscription. The company is seeking to raise ₹108.50 crore from the primary market.
