Putin says US negotiators may visit Moscow after Iran discussions end
Russian President Vladimir Putin said Sunday that he expects a team of US representatives to visit Moscow once Washington reaches an agreement with Iran over the ongoing Middle East crisis.
“We expect that after all the events are over, after the active phase on the Iranian track has passed, we will see the arrival of those representatives of the US administration with whom we have already met in Moscow repeatedly,” Putin said in an interview released by the Kremlin.
Putin added that Russia was ready to continue discussions with the United States and address remaining issues through negotiations.
His remarks came in response to questions about the state of US-Russia relations following the G7 summit in France, where US President Donald Trump urged Moscow to reach a deal over the Ukraine war.
Earlier, Trump said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was performing well in the conflict with Russia, a shift from his previous comments that Kyiv did not have enough leverage to win.
