Trump says plane he flew on faced ‘greater risk’ after aircraft switch

US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the plane he secretly flew on after switching aircraft in Turkiye last month was “at greater risk” amid concerns over a potential Iranian assassination threat.

“I think actually the plane that I flew on was at greater risk,” Trump told reporters after The Washington Post reported on the secret aircraft switch. “I think it was at greater risk because that would be the plane I think that they would be more likely to go for.”

The switch reportedly involved moving the Republican president between aircraft in a catering truck over security concerns linked to reports of a possible Iranian assassination threat.
