Hanuman Ansh Director Vishal Chaturvedi Greets PM Modi, Performs At Bhajan Clubbing Programme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday joined a gathering of young devotees at a ‘bhajan clubbing’ event, a contemporary trend that combines traditional Hindu devotional music with a concert-like atmosphere.

PM Modi attended the event organised to mark the 110th birth anniversary of Sangh Parivar ideologue Deendayal Upadhyaya at a park opposite the BJP headquarters. During the programme, Vishal Chaturvedi, writer-director of Hanuman Ansh, performed the Hanuman Chalisa and a devotional bhajan.

Chaturvedi introduced himself to the Prime Minister as the writer and director of Hanuman Ansh, drawing cheers from the audience. PM Modi was seen smiling and applauding his performance. The filmmaker later shared videos from the event on his Instagram Stories.

Throughout the programme, PM Modi was seen clapping and playing a tambourine-like instrument while participants sang a bhajan dedicated to Lord Ram.

What Is Bhajan Clubbing?

Bhajan clubbing is an emerging cultural trend in which young people gather in energetic, concert-style settings to sing and dance to traditional devotional music. The events typically feature modern acoustic or electronic arrangements alongside spiritual lyrics.

Many of the attendees, including members of Gen Z, participated by chanting, singing along, clapping and dancing to devotional songs.

About Hanuman Ansh

Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh stars Chandan Anand and Shobhinav Satyaa in the lead roles. The film was reportedly made on a budget of around ₹2 crore and released in theatres on August 7.

The film gained momentum through word of mouth in its fourth week and is now reportedly nearing the ₹300 crore mark at the box office.

Hanuman Ansh follows the spiritual journey of Lakshman Das and his transformation into Neem Karoli Baba. The story traces his journey from the age of 13 and his eventual emergence as a revered spiritual figure.

Chaturvedi, a doctor-turned-filmmaker, has written and directed the film. It is produced by Swambhu Media Network Pvt. Ltd., Ragini S, Namrata G S and Anupriya A Nagar. The film is currently running in theatres.
