Alia Bhatt serves Matrix-style chic in all-Gucci look at Milan Fashion Week
Alia Bhatt turned heads at Milan Fashion Week on Friday, stepping out for the Gucci show in a striking head-to-toe ensemble from the luxury label she represents as global brand ambassador.
What Alia wore
Bhatt attended the showcase of Gucci’s artistic director Demna, wearing pieces from the Pre-Fall 2026 couture line along with Frameless Mask Sunglasses from the Spring/Summer 2026 couture collection.
She opted for a black leatherette trench coat, styled with sleek, pulled-back hair, black pointed-toe heels and a classic Gucci handbag. However, it was her oversized frameless sunglasses that became the standout accessory, drawing the most attention from fashion watchers and fans alike.
Social media quickly lit up with praise, with admirers calling her “amazing” and hailing her as a style icon.
A new era for Gucci
The show marked Demna’s runway debut as Gucci’s creative director, unveiling a bold and expansive collection featuring legging-style trousers, seamless mini dresses and luminous evening gowns. The presentation signaled a fresh creative direction for the Italian fashion house, as parent company Kering looks to reinvigorate its flagship brand.
Models walked through a dramatic set framed by towering marble steps topped with replicas of classical statues — a tribute to Florence’s Uffizi Gallery, near which Guccio Gucci founded the brand in 1921.
In the show notes, Demna described the collection as an exploration of diverse silhouettes and stylistic identities aimed at appealing to a broad range of wearers.
The Georgian designer took over the role in July last year after a decade at Balenciaga, succeeding Sabato De Sarno following his two-year tenure.
At the September edition of Milan Fashion Week, Demna first introduced his Gucci vision through a digital lookbook on Instagram accompanied by a short film. Titled Gucci Primavera, the collection set the tone for his creative direction.
“My vision of Gucci is about the coexistence of heritage and fashion. Here they are not opposites, they are lovers,” Demna wrote in a letter accompanying the launch. He added that the debut show introduces a universe of archetypes and dress codes that will shape his evolving design language.
A curated selection from the new collection is available in select stores and online starting Friday, ahead of its official launch in July 2026.
