Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the BJP has become the “first choice of everyone” in the country, citing recent electoral successes across states such as Maharashtra, Kerala and Bihar as evidence of rising public support for the party.

Addressing a rally in Assam, Modi said public faith in the BJP had been “continuously increasing” over the past 1 to 1.5 years. Referring to the recent Bihar elections, he claimed voters had delivered a “record mandate” in favour of the party.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the outcome of recent urban local body elections, noting that results for municipal corporations in major Maharashtra cities were declared two days ago. He described the BJP’s performance in Mumbai as a “historic mandate,” saying the party had won there for the first time in one of the world’s largest municipal corporations.

Turning to Kerala, Modi said the BJP received strong public backing in the state’s municipal elections as well. He pointed out that Thiruvananthapuram has elected a BJP mayor for the first time, calling it a sign of the party’s expanding presence beyond its traditional strongholds.
