JD Vance Delays Switzerland Visit for Planned US-Iran Talks
US Vice President JD Vance has postponed a planned trip to Switzerland, where talks on the next steps of a US-Iran agreement aimed at ending the Middle East conflict were scheduled for Friday.
“The logistics of these negotiations have never been simple or predictable. As of now, the Vice President is not departing tonight,” a White House spokesperson said late Thursday.
The spokesperson added that Washington remains committed to moving the process forward and is prepared to begin technical-level discussions at the earliest opportunity.
“We look forward to beginning technical talks as soon as possible,” the spokesperson said.
The delay underscores the complexities surrounding efforts to advance a US-Iran agreement as diplomatic negotiations continue amid tensions in the region.
