Mumbai Nair Hospital Hit by Bomb Threat Days After 34 ‘Human Bombs’ Hoax
Mumbai police were on high alert on Sunday following a bomb threat at Nair Hospital, officials said. An email sent to the Dean’s official address late Saturday night warned of explosives on the hospital premises, prompting an immediate security response.
Teams from the police and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) conducted a thorough search, but no suspicious items were found, and the threat was declared a hoax.
The incident comes just days after a chilling call claimed 34 “human bombs” carrying 400 kg of RDX were planted across Mumbai. Authorities had heightened security during Ganesh Chaturthi visarjan, deploying over 21,000 personnel.
Mumbai has seen a string of fake bomb threats in recent months, including hoax alerts at Kalwa railway station, ISKCON temple in Girgaon, and Terminal 2 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
