Paresh Rawal Declines Role in Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3: “Maza Nahin Aaya”
Veteran actor Paresh Rawal has revealed that he was approached for a role in Drishyam 3, starring Ajay Devgn, but chose to decline it. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Paresh said that while he found the script “very good,” he did not feel excited by the role offered.
“Yes, the makers did approach me. But I didn’t feel the role was suitable for me. Maza nahin aaya (it wasn’t fun),” he said. “Even in a compelling script, you need a role that excites you. Warna maza nahin aayega (otherwise, you won’t enjoy it).”
Drishyam 3, directed by Abhishek Pathak and produced by Kumar Mangat, is the sequel to the 2015 film Drishyam and its 2022 follow-up. The franchise originally began with the 2013 Malayalam hit starring Mohanlal. The Hindi version stars Ajay Devgn alongside Shriya Saran.
The teaser release for the film was delayed this month due to an agreement between the makers of the Malayalam and Hindi versions, ensuring that content announcements by the Hindi team require permission from the original creators. The Hindi remake is now slated for release on October 2, 2026.
Paresh Rawal was last seen in the horror-comedy Thamma, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. His upcoming projects include Hera Pheri 3, The Taj Story, Bhooth Bangla, and Welcome To The Jungle.
