Saudi Arabia launches ‘Package Visa’ to simplify tourist travel

3

Saudi Arabia has introduced Package Visa, a new digital initiative that combines tourist visa issuance with travel package bookings, allowing eligible visitors to complete their visa application and trip planning through a single, streamlined process.

Initially available through authorised travel and tourism providers in select international markets, the programme is expected to expand globally in the coming months.

One-stop travel booking

Under the new system, travellers can obtain a tourist visa electronically while booking an eligible travel package, eliminating the need for a separate visa application or embassy visit.

Each package must include:

  • Confirmed round-trip flights
  • Accommodation at a Ministry-licensed four-star (or higher) hotel
  • Tourist visa application

Travellers can also add optional experiences such as sightseeing tours, events and leisure activities.

Eligibility and cost

The minimum package duration is two days, while the maximum stay allowed is 88 days. Packages must be booked at least 48 hours before departure.

The minimum package price is SAR 4,000 per adult for the first two days, with an additional SAR 1,000 required for each extra day. Children under 18 can be included in the booking without meeting the minimum package value requirement.

Once the booking is verified, the tourist visa is issued electronically within 48 hours. The single-entry visa remains valid for three months from the scheduled departure date.

The total visa fee is SAR 402.21, including mandatory health insurance.

Easier travel to Saudi

Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed Al Khateeb said the initiative reflects the Kingdom’s efforts to simplify travel and strengthen its position as an increasingly accessible global destination.

The Package Visa builds on Saudi Arabia’s expanding visa options, including the tourist e-Visa, visa on arrival and Stopover Transit Visa, which have helped the country welcome more than 29 million international visitors in 2025.

If a visa has already been issued, cancelling the travel package will automatically revoke the visa. In the event of a visa rejection, travellers will receive refunds for eligible travel services, although visa fees and health insurance charges are non-refundable.
