Sensex down 100 pts, Nifty below 24,550; Grasim Ind, HDFC Life top losers

The Nifty50 and the Sensex were trading on a mixed note as traders exercised caution ahead of the Reserve Bank of India’s policy meeting and talks between the US and Iran.

As of 12:00 PM, the Nifty50 was down 258.25 points or 1.04 per cent at 24,516.05, and the Sensex fell 191.95 points or 0.24 per cent to 78,447.08.

Grasim Industries, Bajaj Auto, and Titan Company were the top losers in the Nifty50 index.

In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap was down 0.21 per cent, while the Nifty SmallCap was up 0.46 per cent.

Sector-wise, the Nifty Realty and the Nifty Cement underperformed, while the Nifty Metal outperformed.
