US intelligence chief warns Iran has stepped up efforts to target Americans in the Middle East and other countries
US Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton warned Friday that Iran has “substantially increased” its efforts to target Americans in the Middle East and beyond.

In a memo to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Clayton said US intelligence had indicated a significant escalation in Iranian efforts to target American personnel, according to a US official.
“The lethal plotting efforts by the Iranians against US citizens have reached advanced stages in both the Middle East and certain other countries,” the memo stated. The document was first reported by Axios.
