Who Is Anmol Bishnoi? Prime Accused in Baba Siddique’s Murder Deported From US

Anmol Bishnoi, one of India’s most-wanted criminal fugitives, has been deported from the United States and is expected to land in New Delhi today. The younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol faces at least 18 criminal cases in India, including charges of conspiring to murder former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique.

Siddique was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan’s office in Bandra East on October 12, 2024.

On Tuesday, Hindustan Times reported that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had informed Siddique’s family that Anmol had been removed from American territory. “ANMOL BISHNOI has been removed from the United States… The offender was removed on November 18, 2025,” the DHS email stated. The family shared a screenshot of the communication.

Who is Anmol Bishnoi?
Anmol is a key figure in Lawrence Bishnoi’s global crime syndicate, which remains active despite Lawrence’s imprisonment in Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Central Jail. The gang is known to have close ties with pro-Khalistan groups such as Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), and agencies believe Anmol and Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar jointly manage several overseas operations.

In April 2024, Anmol claimed responsibility for the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence, prompting the police to issue a lookout circular against him.

Role in Baba Siddique’s Killing
Investigators say Anmol was directly involved in orchestrating NCP leader Baba Siddique’s murder, communicating with the shooters via Snapchat. Known by the alias “Bhanu,” he is also suspected of ordering the assassination of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala in May 2022.

A senior National Investigation Agency (NIA) official told HT that Anmol operated as Lawrence Bishnoi’s main overseas handler — managing extortion operations, issuing threats, and coordinating assignments using encrypted communication.

“His presence abroad enabled the syndicate to build links with criminal groups across West Asia, East Africa and North America. With his deportation confirmed, we are preparing to take his formal custody,” the official said.

Why Was He Deported?
A native of Punjab’s Fazilka district, Anmol is listed among India’s “most wanted” by the NIA and carries a ₹10 lakh reward. He reportedly fled India using a forged passport, traveling through Nepal, Dubai and Kenya before entering the United States. He was detained in November last year, initiating the deportation process that has now concluded.

According to HT, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested him for passport fraud, and he was lodged at the Pottawattamie County Jail before deportation.
