Women’s Asia Cup 2026: India-Pakistan clash set for September 5 as ACC unveils schedule
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced the schedule for the Women’s Asia Cup 2026, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from August 28 to September 13. The tournament’s marquee clash between India and Pakistan is scheduled for September 5 at the Dubai International Stadium.
The T20 tournament will feature eight teams—India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, China, Thailand and Indonesia.
India have been drawn in Group A alongside Pakistan, Thailand and Hong Kong, while Group B comprises defending champions Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia and the UAE.
The tournament begins on August 28 with Thailand taking on Hong Kong, while India will open their campaign against Thailand on August 30. Sri Lanka enter the competition as defending champions after defeating India in the previous edition’s final.
The tournament will serve as a key preparatory event ahead of the Asian Games, where both India and Pakistan have already secured direct qualification to the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, Cricket South Africa has revised the schedule for India’s women’s tour later this year by adding a three-match T20I series. India will now play a one-off Test from December 9-12, a three-match ODI series between December 16 and 22, followed by T20Is from December 26 to 30.
