World Cup ticket resale prices crash as FIFA releases 1,200 more final seats at $7,380
Ticket prices for the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals have fallen sharply following the elimination of co-hosts the United States and Mexico, while FIFA has released nearly 1,200 additional tickets for the final priced at $7,380 each.
Resale platform TickPick showed significant price drops for the quarterfinals. The lowest-priced ticket for Spain vs Belgium in Inglewood fell from $3,261 before the US exit to $1,381. England vs Norway in Miami dropped from $3,866 to $2,049 after Mexico’s elimination, while Argentina vs Switzerland in Kansas City declined from $2,381 to $1,142.
Fans who waited to buy tickets benefited from the lower prices. Jake van Baarsel, a California resident, purchased two tickets for $1,000 each to attend the Spain-Belgium match with his grandson, calling the experience “a memory maker.”
Others who bought earlier paid significantly more. Lisandro Pineda spent around $2,200 on a resale ticket a month in advance, while Los Angeles resident Kourosh Modarress said his family paid $7,000 each for hospitality tickets after missing out during FIFA’s official sales.
Meanwhile, FIFA made 1,178 Category 2 tickets available for the World Cup final at MetLife Stadium on July 19, priced at $7,380. The governing body also listed 68 Category 1 lower-deck seats costing between $19,995 and $32,970, along with premium hospitality packages priced up to $34,500.
FIFA has not explained why the additional final tickets became available. On the resale market, prices for the championship match ranged from $7,440.50 to nearly $11.5 million.
