CJP Ramps Up Pressure on Dharmendra Pradhan, Seeks Immediate Resignation

A large protest led by the Gen Z-driven Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) was held at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Friday, with demonstrators demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged lapses in major examinations.

The protest was spearheaded by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who accused the Education Ministry of failing to safeguard the integrity of key national exams and evaluation processes.

The minister has come under increasing criticism following the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and complaints regarding irregularities in the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) on-screen marking (OSM) system used for the evaluation and re-evaluation of Class 12 board examinations.

Protesters argued that the controversies have undermined public confidence in the country’s education system and adversely affected millions of students.

Adding weight to the demonstration, noted climate activist and education reform advocate Sonam Wangchuk had earlier announced his support for the protest and indicated he would join the gathering if corrective action was not taken by June 5.

“If not us, who? If not now, when?” Wangchuk wrote in a post on X. “I will be joining the CJP members in Delhi on June 6 if nothing changes by June 5. Any self-respecting minister should resign if things go so wrong… Not to mention the effect on millions of young lives and, in fact, the future of India.”

The 59-year-old activist from Ladakh spent six months in detention after being arrested during protests demanding greater autonomy for the region.

The protest at Jantar Mantar comes amid growing political pressure on the Education Ministry over exam-related controversies and demands for greater transparency and accountability in the conduct and evaluation of national examinations.
