With a dash of sass and a touch of wit, Deepika Padukone has shut down chatter around her silence on husband Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster Dhurandhar: The Revenge, delivering a sharp response to social media speculation.

The actor jumped into the comments section of an Instagram post where users questioned why she hadn’t publicly celebrated the film’s success. The post even ran a poll asking whether it was a “calculated snub” or simply overanalysis.

Responding directly, Deepika wrote, “I watched it way before any of you did,” before adding, “Now who is the joke on?”—a pointed comeback to those reading into her online activity.

Her absence from the celebratory buzz had sparked debate among fans, with many questioning her lack of visible support. But her response underscores a broader point—that social media posts aren’t the only measure of personal or professional backing.

In fact, this isn’t the first time she has backed the film. Around its release in December 2025, she shared a note praising the actioner and urging audiences to watch it, while also congratulating director Aditya Dhar and the team.

At a pre-birthday fan interaction too, Deepika expressed pride in the film’s success, even asking attendees if they had watched it—beaming when met with a resounding “yes.”

Directed by Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has emerged as one of Hindi cinema’s biggest recent hits, crossing ₹1,000 crore nett in India. The film has outpaced Baahubali: The Conclusion to become the second-highest grosser, behind Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, and continues to challenge benchmarks set by films like Dangal.

With its sustained box office run and massive scale, the film is firmly cementing its place among the biggest commercial successes in Indian cinema.
