Haldia refinery fire: 20 injured after blaze erupts in naphtha-carrying pipeline

A massive fire broke out on Tuesday at a naphtha-carrying pipeline inside an oil refinery in West Bengal’s Haldia district, leaving at least 20 people injured, officials said.

The blaze started early in the morning, according to police officials. Six of the injured victims are reported to be in critical condition and are being shifted to a hospital in Kolkata for advanced treatment.

A senior police officer from East Midnapore district confirmed the incident and said authorities were assessing the situation.
