‘Quit as PM, become an influencer’: CJP’s Abhijeet Dipke targets Modi, threatens bigger student protests

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Wednesday took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent Instagram videos, saying he should step down as Prime Minister and become a full-time influencer.

“I think [PM Modi] should become an influencer. He is doing very well at that,” Dipke told reporters. “If he is such a good influencer, then he should leave the Prime Minister’s chair, become an influencer, and let someone else do the job.”

His remarks came a day after Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi said social media videos alone would not win over Gen Z voters, urging the Prime Minister to “change the angle of his heart, not the camera angle.”

Dipke also questioned the government’s anti-paper leak measures, saying laws are meaningless without proper implementation. Referring to the proposed fast-track court for paper leak cases, he alleged that the first hearing was delayed because the CBI’s counsel failed to appear.

“If the people implementing the laws are not serious, what is the point of making new laws?” he said.

The CJP leader reiterated allegations that students continue to face police action despite the government’s assurances after the July 20 anti-NEET protests, which ended following an agreement on July 25. He warned that the party would launch an even bigger agitation if FIRs against protesters were not withdrawn.

“If they continue to harass students, we will launch another protest. The next protest will be even bigger,” Dipke said.

Claiming videos of the police crackdown were still emerging, he warned the BJP that students would respond electorally.

“Every student’s household has four votes. Narendra Modi and Amit Shah understand only the language of votes. If one student is lathi-charged or hit by pellets, those votes will be reduced for you. There is still time—correct yourselves, or students will set you right in the elections,” he said.

Dipke also dismissed BJP MP Kangana Ranaut’s criticism of Gen Z, calling her a “part-time politician” and saying he only responds to “serious politicians.”
