Sensex falls 100 pts, Nifty above 23,950; Nifty Auto index rises over 1%

The Nifty50 and the Sensex declined as oil prices extended gains, tracking escalating tension in West Asia.

As of 11:00 AM, the Nifty50 fell 16 points or 0.07 per cent to 23,980.40, and the Sensex was down 63 points or 0.08 per cent at 76,691.44.

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Nestle India, and Infosys were the top losers in the Nifty50 index.

In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap were trading 0.54 per cent and 0.75 per cent down, respectively.

Sector-wise, the Nifty Pharma, the Nifty Realty, and the Nifty Healthcare underperform, while the Nifty FMCG and the Nifty Auto outperformed.
