US military completes new round of airstrikes on Iran
The US military early Thursday confirmed it had carried out another round of strikes on Iran, marking the 12th consecutive night of attacks ordered by President Donald Trump.
In a statement, US Central Command said American forces targeted Iranian military infrastructure, including maritime capabilities, missile and drone storage facilities, coastal surveillance sites, and air defence assets.
“The strikes further degrade Iran’s ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial vessels,” CENTCOM said, adding that US forces have also redirected nine Iran-linked commercial vessels and disabled one as part of an ongoing maritime blockade.
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s military said its air defence systems intercepted multiple hostile drones overnight after several days of Iranian attacks on the Gulf nation.
“Kuwaiti air defenses are currently responding to hostile drone threats,” the army said, adding that any explosions heard were caused by interceptions carried out by its air defence systems.
