‘₹50 crore offer to defect’: Sanjay Raut claims Sena-UBT MPs being lured amid split rumours
Amid rumours of a split in the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT), senior leader Sanjay Raut on Wednesday alleged that party MPs were being offered huge sums of money to switch allegiance.
Addressing a press conference alongside party leaders Arvind Sawant, Anil Desai and Rajabhau Waje, Raut claimed that lawmakers were being enticed with offers of ₹50 crore each, including an advance payment of ₹15 crore.
“I received a call from an important person who told me that MPs have been promised ₹50 crore, with ₹15 crore already offered as an advance. MPs are being bought in Maharashtra,” Raut alleged.
His remarks come amid growing speculation that a section of Sena (UBT) MPs may break away from the party’s Lok Sabha unit, potentially dealing a major blow to Uddhav Thackeray’s faction.
According to reports, Arvind Sawant, Anil Desai and Rajabhau Waje are currently among the only three of the party’s nine Lok Sabha MPs who remain firmly aligned with Uddhav Thackeray, though there has been no official confirmation of a split.
