The Centre on Saturday revised export duties on petrol, diesel and aviation turbine fuel (ATF), effective June 1, as part of its fortnightly review mechanism aimed at balancing domestic fuel supplies and price stability amid global energy market uncertainties.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, export duty on petrol has been cut to ₹1.5 per litre, while duties on diesel and ATF have been revised to ₹13.5 per litre and ₹9.5 per litre, respectively.

The export levies, first imposed in March during the West Asia crisis, are reviewed every two weeks and are linked to average international crude oil prices.

“The rates for the next fortnight beginning June 1, 2026, have been notified by the Central Government today,” the ministry said, adding that the revised duty structure includes a special additional excise duty (SAED) of ₹1.5 per litre on petrol exports, ₹13.5 per litre on diesel exports and ₹9.5 per litre on ATF exports.

The government clarified that the latest revision applies only to exports and does not affect excise duties on petrol and diesel sold in the domestic market.

The move follows the previous review on May 16, when the government raised the export duty on petrol to ₹3 per litre from zero, while lowering duties on diesel and ATF to ₹16.5 per litre and ₹16 per litre, respectively.

Fuel prices for consumers remain unchanged. In Delhi, petrol is currently priced at ₹102.12 per litre, compared with ₹113.47 per litre in Kolkata and ₹111.21 per litre in Mumbai.
