Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Nabin on Monday criticised the satirical political outfit Cockroach Janta Party during his Telangana visit, alleging that “virus and cockroach people” were trying to divide the country.

Addressing BJP booth presidents in Telangana, Nabin said such groups wanted to weaken the nation and urged people to remain cautious.

“Parties like virus and cockroach are coming into the country. These are people who want to make the country hollow. There is a need to pay attention to these virus and cockroach people. The gang wants to divide the country,” he said.

‘India’s Gen Z is not anti-establishment’

Speaking at an engineering college near Hyderabad, Nabin also commented on the debate around Gen Z and said India’s youth were focused on nation-building rather than opposing institutions.

“There is a lot of debate about Gen Z. People told me that youth carried out agitations in some countries. They are described as Gen Z agitations. India’s youth is not anti-establishment. India’s youth works for building the country,” he said, according to Press Trust of India.

Nabin pointed to athletes and startup founders among students as examples of “real” Gen Z, saying they were working towards creating their own future and contributing to the country’s growth.

He also took an indirect swipe at protesters who, he alleged, challenged India’s “soul and Constitution,” saying they could not represent the country’s youth.

Attack on Rahul Gandhi, Congress

During his BJP outreach programme in Telangana, Nabin said the party would form a “double-engine government” in the state in the next assembly elections.

He praised BJP leaders who supported the creation of Telangana and also criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, calling him a “part-time politician.”

Nabin also accused the Congress of failing to respect former prime minister P. V. Narasimha Rao, who hailed from the region, while highlighting that the Modi government awarded him the Bharat Ratna.

Cockroach Janta Party protests

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which began as an online satirical political movement founded by Abhijeet Dipke, has recently drawn attention after turning into a protest campaign.

The group, along with activist Sonam Wangchuk and supporters, has been protesting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over allegations related to the NEET-UG paper leak controversy and issues in the education system.

Wangchuk began an indefinite hunger strike on Sunday and appealed to people to join a one-day hunger strike either at Jantar Mantar or from their respective states.
