Sensex up 700 pts; Nifty near 24200; Adani Total Gas, Zensar Tech lead SMID gains

The Nifty50 and the Sensex advanced as gains in global equities due to chip-stock rally supported.

As of 10:30 AM, the Nifty50 was up 245.45 points or 1.02 per cent at 24,208.25, and the Sensex rose 778.74 points or 1.01 per cent to 77,520.56.

Tech Mahindra, HCLTech, and Tata Consultancy Services were the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.

In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap were up 1.19 per cent and 1.44 per cent, respectively.

Sector-wise, the Nifty Metal, the Nifty IT and the Nifty Consumer Durables outperformed. Meanwhile, the Nifty Pharma and the Nifty Healthcare underperformed with least gains.

IPO Today

Laser Power & Infra initial public offer (IPO) entered the second day of subscription. The company is aiming to raise ₹742 crore from the primary market.

Devson Catalyst and Happy Steels IPOs entered the second day of subscription. Both are book-built issues worth ₹42.32 crore and ₹25 crore.

Kusumgar IPO also entered the final day of subscription. The company is seeking to raise ₹650 crore from the primary market. The IPO consists only of an offer for sale (OFS).
