In a dramatic new turn in the legal battle involving JPMorgan Chase, former banker Chirayu Rana has refiled his lawsuit against senior executive Lorna Hajdini, introducing fresh allegations backed by statements from two anonymous witnesses, according to a report by The Sun.

Rana, 35, has filed the revised complaint in the Manhattan Supreme Court, accusing Hajdini, 37, of sexual assault, racial abuse and drugging. The lawsuit, which had earlier been withdrawn for what were described as “corrections,” was refiled on Monday with new witness accounts detailing alleged incidents from 2024.

One anonymous witness claimed he was staying at an apartment with Rana when he was awakened by a woman’s voice. According to the filing, Hajdini allegedly entered the room “completely naked,” sat on a sofa, lit a cigarette and invited him to join her and Rana in the bedroom.

The witness alleged that after he repeatedly refused, Hajdini told him: “You know I own him, so you’d better come join.”

He further claimed that after she returned to the bedroom, he heard Rana pleading for her to stop and asking her to leave.

A second witness alleged that Rana had previously confided that a woman at work was making his “life hell.” He also claimed to have witnessed Hajdini kissing Rana on the neck and grabbing him while Rana appeared visibly uncomfortable.

The revised complaint also includes an affidavit from Rana stating he was diagnosed with Post-traumatic stress disorder in October 2024 following the alleged incidents, along with a letter from his counsellor confirming he is receiving treatment.

Bank, executive reject allegations

Both JPMorgan and Hajdini have firmly denied the accusations.

In a statement to The Sun, JPMorgan said its internal investigation found no evidence to support Rana’s claims.

“Following our investigation, we do not believe there is any merit to these allegations. While numerous employees cooperated with the review, the complainant declined to participate and did not provide information central to substantiating his claims,” the bank said.

Hajdini’s legal team also issued a categorical denial.

“Lorna continues to strongly deny these allegations. She never dated this individual, never had any sexual or romantic interaction with him, and never gave him any drugs. These claims are entirely fabricated and are damaging to her reputation,” her lawyers said.

The case has attracted additional scrutiny following a report by the New York Post alleging that Rana misled the bank about his father’s death to obtain leave to prepare the lawsuit, and that he had consulted a chatbot for legal advice related to sexual assault claims.

Despite the newly added witness statements, JPMorgan maintains that its review of emails, records and electronic devices uncovered no wrongdoing, adding that Hajdini fully cooperated with investigators while Rana did not participate in the inquiry.
