Sensex gains over 250 pts; India’s manufacturing PMI rises to 56.5 in September

The Nifty50 and the Sensex advanced as they assess the possibility of de-escalation in West Asia.

As of 11:00 AM, the Sensex rose 279.80 points or 0.38 per cent to 74,808.88 and the Nifty50 was up 87.70 points or 0.38 per cent at 23,416.70.

Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, and Hindalco Industries were the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.

In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap rose 0.29 per cent and 0.52 per cent, respectively.

Sector-wise, the Nifty Metal rose over 1 per cent to outshine its peers, while the Nifty IT declined the most.
