Shehzad Poonawalla renews resignation request, urges BJP to accept his exit from party posts

BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla has urged the party to accept his resignation from all organisational posts, which he had previously submitted but the party had declined.

In a letter shared on Monday, Poonawalla expressed gratitude to the BJP for asking him to reconsider his decision.

“It was extremely touching and I am indeed grateful that the party refused to accept my resignation letter immediately and requested me to reconsider the decision,” he said.

However, Poonawalla said that after careful consideration, he had made a final decision to step down as the BJP’s national spokesperson and relinquish his active primary membership of the party.

“But after hard contemplation, I have arrived at a final decision that I would like to press for relieving me from my role as National Spokesperson and active primary membership of the BJP,” he said.
