Sensex rises 400 pts, Nifty around 24,000; ABD cuts FY27 growth forecast to 6.6%
The Nifty50 and the Sensex rose, tracking gains in consumer durabls and auto stocks suppored, while traders monitored fresh tension between the US and Iran.
As of 11:00 AM the Nifty50 was up 147.05 points or 0.62 per cent at 24,029.10, and the Sensex rose 447.14 points or 0.58 per cent to 76,950.74.
Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, and Eternal were the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap were trading 1.14 per cent and 1.5 per cent higher, respectively.
Sector-wise, the Nifty Consumer Durables rose the most, while the Nifty IT declined the most.
IPO Today
Laser Power & Infra initial public offer (IPO) opened for subscription on Thursday. The company is aiming to raise ₹742 crore from the primary market.
Devson Catalyst and Happy Steels IPOs opened for subscription. Both are book-built issues worth ₹42.32 crore and ₹25 crore.
Kusumgar IPO will entered the second day of subscription on Thursday. The company is seeking to raise ₹650 crore from the primary market. The IPO consists only of an offer for sale (OFS).
